The “EU Partnership for Local Climate Action in Türkiye Project”, financed by the European Union, of which the Directorate of Climate Change is the end recipient, is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The project aims to support Türkiye in its efforts to combat climate change through increased implementation capacity at the local level and contribute to sustainable, low-carbon, and climate-resilient development.
Within the scope of the project, it is planned to study climate projections for Türkiye, conduct regional vulnerability and risk assessments, prepare local climate change action plans for pilot provinces, develop interactive online tools to increase decision-making and implementation capacity at local level, organise capacity-building and dissemination activities, and provide technical assistance to a complementary grant programme.
Within the framework of the project, experts in various sectors will be recruited to contribute to climate projections, sectoral vulnerability and risk assessments at regional level, local climate change action planning, online decision-making tools, and stakeholder engagement.
