Within the scope of the EU-Türkiye Climate Change Grant Programme, out of 12 informative sessions providing information to potential applicants on application process, eligibility criteria and financing opportunities, the first 4 sessions have been completed.
On November 4, 2024, the first informative session took place in Ankara, with opening speeches by Miodrag Dragišić, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP Türkiye, Virve Vimpari, Counsellor and Head of Section for Green Development and Inclusive Growth at the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, and Orhan Solak, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Climate Change. Following this session, further sessions were held online on November 5, in-person on November 7 in İzmir and online on November 8, where participants were provided with comprehensive information on the grant programme.
During the sessions, City Planner Merve Güreş from the Directorate of Climate Change presented the general framework of the grant programme, while Grant Experts Barış Uysal and Uğur Dağ from UNDP Türkiye provided information on the application details. Participants from municipalities, universities, local authorities, development agencies, NGOs and cooperatives had the opportunity to learn about the grant programme and address their questions. These sessions, which aim to provide detailed information on the application process, will continue throughout November.

The grant programme, for which the deadline for the submission of concept notes is 16 December 2024, aims to support activities focused on climate change adaptation and mitigation at the local level across Türkiye. You may learn more about the grant programme here.
